Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Stars Pack

By Dominik Domalip and Thomas Perry

Key Features

Very early on in Nike and Supreme’s relationship, the two brands teamed up to release a Nike SB Dunk High collection that continues to fetch thousands of pounds to this day. It featured gold stars on the centre side panels and a faux crocodile skin which was unlike any other release at the time. This year, Nike and Supreme decided it was finally the right moment to bring back the collection after 18 years. This time, however, it would be on the Nike SB Dunk Low.

The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Stars collection contains 4 different colourways, Barkroot Brown, Hyper Royal, Mean Green, and Black. Each sneaker features its specific colour in a faux crocodile skin and pairs it with a smooth white leather on the rest of the upper. The same gold stars on the centre side panels and the gold Nike branding on the tongue and heel are also present on the new release. The insole is red, with Supreme and Nike Air branding written in bold, and each shoe comes with black laces and a gold deubré.

Editor’s Notes

Living up to the 2003 Supreme x Nike SB Dunks is almost an impossible feat. In 2003 collaborations were a relatively new idea, and to add a faux crocodile skin and gold details to an otherwise standard Nike Dunk colourway was mind-blowing. However, their unapologetically flashy look was a hit, and the shoes have since become a grail for many Sneakerheads. Highsnobiety recently even ranked the 2003 release as the 25th most influential Nike Dunk of all time.

These days, however, such a wild design is nothing new. In fact, the 2021 Supreme x Nike Dunks were relatively tame for some of the collaborations we have seen this year. But the nostalgia factor alone was enough for the 2021 Supreme x Nike SB Dunks to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The day the collection dropped, each colourway started to fetch prices of over £600 on websites like StockX, and all 4 colourways have maintained their value ever since. Strong contenders for sneaker of the year, and bright silhouettes that will add some flair to whatever outfit you match it with, what’s not to love about the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Stars pack?
